Sunday was the day we decided to visit the Luxembourg area and I, of course, had to go to the Farmer’s Market. But first we strolled along La Rue de Rivoli and through and around the entrance to Le Louvre in order to cross the River at a different spot.
As we strolled:
a favorite site – more on this later
where one’s job is to stack butter cookies into perfect pyramids all day long – <3
a small and charming hotel along our route
Nous sommes arrivés! (I’m tickled pink!)
Now, this is fun:
notice the bouquet of perfect pink roses atop the counter?
I’m guessing this would be me!
succulent and SWEET, no hard, tasteless melons here!
we arrived almost at the end of the market – and so these lucky Parisians have gotten a lot of great stuff!
glistening and perfectly ripe, no hard, white centers here
As we strolled out of the market we passed a man selling the most delicious-smelling quiches ever! I’m sorry we didn’t have some!
A beautiful place to spend a Sunday afternoon – at Luxembourg Gardens:
Merci beaucoup to Marie de’Medici, Circa 1611 – how wonderful!
Many have traversed these paths before me, some often and easily – and may consider these views and sentiments to be familiar and common. But, for me, these footsteps will always ring of the sparkling virgin experience, and thus, offer the emotions of joy of the nouveau traveler, no matter how many times I shall go and stand at the very same spots. I continue to be humbled by these gifts of voyage.
