I was fascinated by the juxtaposition of the shimmering water, the reflections and what rose away from them
Well, it seems as though I should try to finish up my chronicling on my Paris trip in this post. I can’t go on forever, can I? I don’t really want to separate from the memories quite yet.
Aside from going to Musee L’Orangerie, we didn’t do museums this trip. We wanted to focus our time out of doors. But, I made an exception to make sure that Christin got to see the Monet water lilies panels Nymphéas, 1920–26. This is a must do – and honestly can anyone ever get enough of these?
While we didn’t pay another visit to Mona Lisa at Le Louvre, we did spend some time yucking it up outside on the grounds. It is always fun to try to get new vantage points here.
and to pretend that one is very tall!
Here are some nice shots from dusk:
At and around Notre Dame – I would have to say she is due for a good scrubbing:
In celebration of Domaine Ott – these are very large bottles in display and include one white, which I have never seen before:
where everyone takes the Summer Rosé season seriously
one of the many beautiful doors of Central Paris – in Place Vendome – wishing I could bring these home………
I’m always up for a sale on Agapanthus – but I knew I could not bring these home
Loved paying a visit to Polaine – and picking up my favorite souvenir – their fabulous little cookie tin, filled with crispy delicious shortbreads. I could not resist their embroidered linen baguette bag, either – as if I needed another bag for my Farmer’s Market trekking:
More fabulous food:
these are the most wonderful little melons – I wish they grew them here!
and ahhhhh, looking like perfection, non?
I have to say that the time went by so very quickly and we found ourselves awaking on Thursday morning and wondering how it could possibly be time to go home already. We luckily had time for a last breakfast out of doors and a last stroll through La Place de la Concorde – to say au revoir to these places. I must say I found myself with the feeling of my feet being attached to the streets here and thus my heart. I really did not want to go home. I could easily stay forever. I wanted to see my family and Kit and Callie. Ultimately, Ryan’s birthday called me back. Otherwise, there could have been a big problem……… Hmmmmm.
To sum up, Paris sews stitches into your heart. There are so many endearing and enveloping places to slide your psyche into. It is a cozy place with a cozy lifestyle – a hominess that I found easily adaptable. I don’t find Parisians rude or stuffy – well maybe just a couple – but honestly aren’t people in New York often rude?
Au revoir to Paris – for this time only. I will count the days till I can go back. My objective is to find a way to fund my little trips and keep going over to do what I love to do – wander, take pictures and savor all the delicious food venues……
This was a blissful time………
Next time: Eating my way through Paris! And, the flea markets!
