Right now I’m running at a huge pink deficit in the garden, particularly in the Rose Department. Pink is my go-to color always, but particularly in the Winter. I find it brings me a big pick-me-up. While I am also infatuated with blues and purples in the landscape, because of their rarity and especially this year, pink tends to be my all-time favorite. The range of shades is really amazing. I adore them all.
What do color infatuations say about you? I find this whole area of study to be fascinating. Honestly, I don’t know a whole lot about it although I suspect it says a lot about what stage or phase of thought, perspective or life you might be in.
Years ago people were getting their colors done. It was a huge fad. I really didn’t get the whole thing and didn’t partake. Rather than focus on what colors suited your wardrobe and skin, eyes and hair, I have always been more keyed into a more outward perspective.
Here is some help in this department:

I don’t know why, but I am totally obsessed with embracing the colors outside my door every morning. Here are some shots from the garden today:

Roses:
Achillea:
Spirea:
Common Geranium:
Clematis:

I haven’t been to Cape Cod since last November. I am looking forward to seeing what’s in bloom in my yard up there! In the meantime, I’m inhaling as much of this as I possibly can – hardwiring it onto my brain so I can sustain myself in about 6 months.
Wishing everyone a lovely pink day!

Marianne, I am loving your flower pictures! You’re only a street away but your garden seems to be just a bit ahead of mine. I love the pink hydrangeas, The two I have are both blue; a lace cap and my endless summer which I put on Instagram this morning. I’ll have to get another and sweeten the soil for pink blooms. What varieties do you have growing? Jeanne

Jeanne: I have mostly Endless Summer, Lace Cap, Oak Leaf, Limelight, a white that I am not sure of the name – not a mop head, those 2 deep pink ones came as pink and I don’t know their names either; then I got some dwarf varieties in the pots by my garage; I’ll check them. As I am basically a flower hoarder, I will try out any and all. They particularly seem to like being on the north side of the house.
