In 2016, I continued to find joy in taking photos as part of my fascination with the beauty in nature, cooking, baking, travel and my beloved pets. Sadly, I did not make it to Europe in 2016 because of losing Kit. I hope to make up for this in 2017.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from 2016. It’s hard to choose one per month from my collection, especially considering the thousands of flower photos that I treasure. But, I think this small sample might sum things up. My kiddos are off limits here for the most part – they had a great year and I have enjoyed watching them explore and grow immensely.
January:
Callie exclaiming, “it’s going to snow how much?” Animals have such great instincts.
February:
a peaceful and calming view from our yard onto Glen Eagles Drive
March:
April:
with my true love, Kit with whom I shared many happy days working outside together
May:
at NYBG where I spent many indulgent days in 2016, beginning with the annual Daffodil weekend
June:
a sea of fresh apricots, caught in swells in my frangipani tart, charmed
July:
oh so happy, peach picking at Melick’s, came home with the annual boatload
August:
ran home from Calif to be with Kit – here, in a last comfortable shot at home and, heartbreak
September:
Harley arrives at her new home, sent here straight from heaven by Kit
October:
celebrating unadulterated glee, something we could surely all use more of
November:
contemplative beauty in Venice Ca where nature never hesitates to delight
December:
at home and cozy, a Christmas tree for Callie
Wishing peace, harmony and good health for all in 2017!
